Harris County Flood Control District initiated an Atascocita-area feasibility study for drainage improvements in tributaries west and south of Lake Houston. It is useful local context, but it does not prescribe a residential system for any one address.
At the lot level, the practical questions are narrower: where does water enter, where does it stop, and where can it lawfully go? A route near roots, utilities, paving, an easement, or an adjacent property needs more care than a generic French-drain sketch can provide. Conditions should be observed during or soon after rain when possible.
